Today was a good day. Good enough I haven't found the time to write about it yet. BUT, since we had the opportunity to get these other entries and pics posted, figured we should. I'll try to keep it updated at least twice a week from now on.
I know they are long but they give you a pretty good idea of the culture shock of a rollercoaster we've been riding for the past week. Feel free to leave comments too if you'd like! Remember, they're chronological...so start with Day 1!
Yikes . . . good luck guys. Glad to hear my spa idea wasn't so "lame" or too "conventional". You'll love the hotel. They're really nice. They have continental breakfast in the morning, an indoor pool, ice machines, pillows NOT made out of wicker . . . You'll love it there!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo super jealous that the two of you are in Costa Rica. While in college, I studied abroad there. Lived in San Jose with a local family and traveled the country on the weekends for five months. It was by far the most amazing, and life changing experience of my life. Enjoy every single second that you are there. It truly is the most amazing country. If you ever need any info or recommendations, please don't hesitate to contact me.... PURA VIDA!!!!!! :)

All the luck to you guys, remember your gonna look back at the bad parts and laugh your asses off.
ReplyDeleteWow, sounds like it is way more of a culture shock then Japan! Glad your navigating your way through it! Next time Mike swats the cord please take a picture :) Look forward to your updates! xo
ReplyDeleteMichael & Nicole,
ReplyDeleteI’m sitting here with mixed emotions, envious, for you two are on an adventure that most will never have. Sad, because I miss you. But most of all I am smiling from ear to ear because I am laughing so hard from reading your blog.
Yes, Nicole, please keep us all up to date as I’m sure everyone is enjoying the blog as much as I am. Hey Michael, come on I know you are taking more pictures than this. Get some pictures of the look of terror on your faces as you battle the bug wars. I think the funniest picture I have in my mind is Michael swatting at the pull cord, that has to be a real hoot. Keep the camera close by for some really good shots.
I’m on board with Kevin, I want to be part of the camera crew to follow you guys around. This would make great TV.
Love you both and look forward to reading more!!!
Nicole,
ReplyDeleteYou are such a gifted writer. I can hear you laughing from here. Well, maybe you are not laughing now, but, you will be... I hope everything works out. We need to see more pics - the pull cord for sure. :)
Miss you in Hartford.

Nikki...I am seriously going to be 1st in line for the book, when it gets published. It may be just be words for you, but you are an amazing writer. If nothing else comes out of this (and I'm sure something will) you may have just cemented your future as a write. Luvs and hugs to you & Mike....Michelle F.
